DOL Final Rule Delayed
December 14, 2016
The final rule that would have raised the minimum salary from $455/week to $913/week to be classified as exempt from overtime has been blocked by a federal judge.
The delay is temporary while the case brought by 21 states and several business groups is litigated. The rule will not go into effect on December 1, 2016, but the final rule could still become effective and applied retroactively in the future. Please call your payroll processor before making and communicating decisions related to this latest development.
We will continue to monitor the Department of Labor website and make you aware of any updates.
